Welcome to CodeXplorers!

CodeXplorers aims to revolutionize computer science education by providing free, comprehensive learning opportunities to high school and college students. Our program focuses on practical coding skills, research applications, and fostering a community of young innovators. By partnering with schools and leveraging online platforms, we seek to reach a diverse student population and prepare them for the digital future, while providing digital access to those in need.

Frequently Asked Questions

What languages are offered?

At first, CodeXplorers will start with Python, but will then diversify into other languages such as Java and R.

How can we register our school to your organization?

Go to the "Contact / Want to Join?" tab

Can only colleges be chapters?

No, high schools and colleges can (and should) be chapters!!

Do I need to be an expert at coding to start a chapter?

No!!!! As long as some people on your chapter's board know how to code and can teach the curriculum, you can handle administrative duties like outreach, forming the club, managing activities, organizing events, etc.

What are the committees for?

The two committees (events and education committee) are there to ensure future success in the chapters and organization. The education committee determines the syllabus, lesson plans, which codes to teach, etc. The events committee determines which types of events to hold, and the funding needed, and organizes events for the chapter as a whole. If you are interested in joining a commitee, reach out!!

What, aside from coding, is being taught?

Coding is the basis here for everything else. After covering basic coding skills, we will move into the director research application in the S.T.E.M. fields. The education committee also determines which specific topics to cover after finishing basic coding skills. New ideas are always welcome.

What about fundraising?

Each chapter has its own fundraising events (bake sales, grant applications, donations, etc.) In order to suffice their individual chapter needs and help for use in events for the organization to participate in (such as hackathons). The events committee is there to guide us on fundraising as well.
